The Fuel System Story

Electronic fuel injection (EFI) provides improved drive-ability, efficiency and performance. Today's high performance EFI engines require the utmost in fuel delivery systems. Constant fuel flow to the injectors must be guaranteed, regardless of how choppy the water can get or how tight the turn. Therefore, the marine engineer is challenged to find a way to ensure fuel flow without the need for a specially designed fuel tank or other apparatus.

PCM is the only manufacturer in the marine industry to answer this challenge with the exclusive, patented Fuel Control Cell (FCC), which provides important features and benefits not found anywhere else.

Let's define the perfect fuel delivery system:
It must eliminate the possibility of fuel starvation and vapor lock, regardless of the marine environment. It must filter both contaminate fuel particles and water to protect the high pressure fuel pump, the injectors and the entire fuel system. It must be easily accessed for service and routine maintenance.

Compare the FCC with the fuel systems of the competition:
We have a two-pump system and fuel reservoir to ensure fuel delivery, versus one pump and no reservoir. We use a Raycor Aqua Bloc 10-micron fuel filter to protect both the engine and fuel pump, versus in some cases, no filter at all. The FCC is a conveniently mounted cannister for easy service, versus a single pump located in a remote area.
